Develop personal voice in dance within the context of contemporary world issues and/or events.
Indicators for this outcome
(a) Survey and respond to a range of world dance types and styles, including dances of Indigenous peoples.
(b) Examine international choreographers who are pioneers in new movements or genres ofdance.
(c) Acknowledge and describe how a variety of worldviews influence personal voice through dance.
(d) Investigate how various dance types and styles emerge and evolve in response to historical and/or current cultural shifts.
(e) Explore and respond to dance practices within a range of cultural and environmental contexts (e.g., legends, myths, ceremonies, influence of nature).
(f) Explore other artists’ work related to global issues and explore similar issues through own evolving personal voice.
(g) Reflect on the development of one’s personal voice in dance.
