Investigate opportunities in Saskatchewan to use and develop Spanish language skills and explore personal identity as a Spanish language learner.
Indicators for this outcome
(a) Reflect on personal experience with language (e.g., languages spoken, language learning history, family and heritage languages).
(b) Describe benefits of being bilingual or plurilingual.
(c) Seek opportunities to communicate in Spanish at the provincial level (e.g., Spanish Saskatchewan social media groups, provincial Spanish language newsletters, local Spanish community radio and podcasts and corresponding in Spanish with students from another Saskatchewan school).
(d) Explore Spanish cultural associations in Saskatchewan such as the Salvadoran Spanish School and Regina Multicultural Council.
(e) Research opportunities to further personal Spanish language learning in Saskatchewan (e.g., post-secondary Spanish courses, online courses and community language learning centres).
(f) Investigate scholarship, study and work opportunities available to Spanish-speaking students in Saskatchewan.
