Indicators for this outcome
(a) Explain the proceedings of meetings regarding topics relevant to cultural areas of study such as land claims or chief and council meetings.
(b) Explain or invite a speaker to share traditional narratives (e.g., histories, moral stories, songs, informational texts, inspirational speeches).
(c) Interpret and produce speeches with a variety of purposes (e.g., inspirational, political, tributes, guidance) with the help of Elders or other adults in the community.
(d) Interpret contemporary reflections in various mediums that relate to cultural areas of study such as documentaries on social problems in the community, theatre or magazine articles.
(e) Examine text that has been transcribed from the oral tradition of Nakoda people on a topic that is familiar to the student (e.g., contemporary lifestyles, fishing, hunting).
(f) Investigate informational text that may be unfamiliar but relevant to research needs of the student.
(g) Translate text between a Nakoda language and another language.
