(a) Identify and use terms related to kinship.
(b) Express some emotions and feelings familiar to the classroom (e.g., role-playing, talking circles).
(c) Explain and follow rules, routines, and procedures related to a specific activity (e.g., playing a sport, preparing a meal, planning a meeting).
(d) Present oral forms of simple and short contemporary Nakoda reflections, such as songs, short entertaining films, short stories and recipes using land foods.
(e) Retell parts of oral narratives using a variety of traditional and contemporary mediums to support the retelling such as drama, dance, music or visual art.
(f) Communicate personal feelings on topics of study or experiences using a variety of mediums, such as video, art, music and narratives.
(g) Use Nakoda vocabulary to describe a visual display of culture (e.g., prepare food or hides).
(h) Use expressions to illustrate differences in register (e.g., formal vs. informal).
(i) Identify and produce uses of common regional or other variations in the Nakoda language.
(j) Use politeness conventions in a variety of contexts (e.g., using suitable language to engage listeners’ attention when beginning to speak).
(k) Use nonverbal communication in a variety of contexts (e.g., shrugging shoulders, pointing with lips).
(l) Use Plains Sign Language along with Nakoda language.
(m) Participate in ceremonies or feasts by extracting the words known and then discuss the meaning.
(n) Explore outdoors to become familiar with the weather and environment to strengthen vocabulary.
