Assess how knowledge is produced and shared in various ways through a range of art forms including those produced by First Nations and Métis artists.
Indicators for this outcome
(a) | Examine and interpret the work of First Nations and Métis artists to learn how knowledge is shared and culture is sustained across generations. |
(b) | Differentiate between knowledge that is spiritual or sacred and knowledge that is secular and how these are represented in art (e.g., architecture, painting, craft). |
(c) | Describe the significance of specific art works in shaping content or challenging assumptions in history, society or culture. |
(d) | Research an artist whose work is personally meaningful and reflects aesthetic, cultural, historical or spiritual knowledge. |
(e) | Describe how visual culture and personal history contribute to own practice and knowledge formation. |
(f) | Explore the interconnected relationship between the artist, the art and the viewer. |
