Assess how knowledge is produced and shared in various ways through a range of art forms including those produced by First Nations and Métis artists.
Indicators for this outcome
(a) Examine and interpret the work of First Nations and Métis artists to learn how knowledge is shared and culture is sustained across generations.
(b) Differentiate between knowledge that is spiritual or sacred and knowledge that is secular and how these are represented in art (e.g., architecture, painting, craft).
(c) Describe the significance of specific art works in shaping content or challenging assumptions in history, society or culture.
(d) Research an artist whose work is personally meaningful and reflects aesthetic, cultural, historical or spiritual knowledge.
(e) Describe how visual culture and personal history contribute to own practice and knowledge formation.
(f) Explore the interconnected relationship between the artist, the art and the viewer.
(g) Make interdisciplinary links between art, science, technology, design and mathematics.
