Locked up is a short W5 program that depicts the abusive history of the provincially run Brookside Training School in Ontario, where thousands of children who were deemed unmanageable were sentenced to spend time from 1931 to 1984. It features the case of Rick Brown, who was sentenced as a youth to an indeterminate amount of time at the reform school. He has joined a class action lawsuit against the Ontario government which has been started by former students who suffered abuse and mistreatment while they spent time at this and other similar provincial institutions.
