Indicators for this outcome
(a) predicts what the discourse will be about using background knowledge about subject or from previewing and pre-listening activities directed by the teacher.
(b) after hearing/viewing/reading discourse:
  • compiles and organizes details, such as the sequence of events or steps;
  • examines causes and effects of decisions made by characters; and,
  • identifies and describes the main character(s), the main problem or the purpose.
(c) recognizes and explains language techniques used for effectiveness, such as accompanying songs, clarity of vocabulary chosen using visual representation such as illustrations, graphs, accessories; and,
(d) relates personally to a character or situation in moral stories using a comparison chart or Venn diagram.
