- St. Pope John Paul II's multiple statements and meetings to promote unity and peace through dialogue
- Pope Francis' meeting with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople
- scientific and religious collaboration (e.g., Father Georges Lemaître's Big Bang Theory, papal support of evolutionary theory, papal statements on the mission of the Vatican Observatory).
