Reaching for the Moon
In this autobiography, Buzz Aldrin, an American astronaut, describes his life from boyhood to 1969 when he and Neil Armstrong were the first people to walk on the moon. Armstrong's life began with a competitive athletic boyhood, followed by West Point, the Air Force, the Korean War and finally the moon. Some of Aldrin's philosophy comes through in the book - set goals, work hard, do not give up and follow your dream. Colourful, full-page paintings illustrate the main events in Aldrin's life. The book concludes with a chronology of flight and space exploration from 1903 to 2004.
