Steps to Success Series
The series includes books on the most popular movement activities. Each title is written by an accomplished coach or player and provides skill instruction through progressions so that students can perform the basics and then advance to higher levels of performance. Students learn at their own rate through step-by-step activities. Assessment guides are included for students to rate their progress. Teachers in Saskatchewan who choose to use these books will need to make some adaptations in order to follow a curriculum that is designed conceptually, emphasizing skill development rather than the development of sport activities. Selected books, however, could be very useful, particularly for teachers unfamiliar with specific sport activities.

Teaching Games for Understanding: Theory, Research, and Practice
As games are an important aspect of physical education, this book provides educators with current research and a conceptualization model for teaching games for understanding (TGfU). By exploring the learner's development of games knowledge, improvements in games teaching and learning occur. The book presents teaching and learning games at various levels. It also addresses the role of assessment in teaching games for understanding as well as integration of cooperative learning and tactical game models.
